Luxury Holiday in Ecuador

08/11/2016

In the northwestern corner of South America, hugging the coastline of the Pacific Ocean, is mainland Ecuador and its world-famous islands, the Galapagos. Whether you want to keep both feet on the land, or take a boat to explore the wonders of this archipelago, when you book a luxury holiday in Ecuador, you will find surprise after marvellous surprise.

Did you know that Ecuador is one of the most mega-diverse countries in the world? Mega-diverse countries harbour the majority of the worlds species, of both animals and plants, and Ecuador has greater biodiversity per square kilometre than anywhere else. Many of those species are endemic. That’s why Ecuador was the first country to recognise the rights of nature — legal rights for the national environment and the creatures living in it — alongside a respect for human rights. For wildlife lovers, and those with an interest in the natural world and its protection, you won’t find a more fascinating, rewarding destination than Ecuador. Exclusive Adventures’ passionate team have explored every corner of the country, and look forward to introducing its marvels to you.
    Isabella II - Galapagos
Isabella II
To explore the islands of the Galapagos — and the incredible species which live there and which sparked Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution — sail away onboard Isabella II, an intimate 20-cabin expedition yacht. The cabins are well designed to maximise space and light, and all guests have access to the onboard hot tub, fitness room, and bar. Excursions off the ship are by glass bottomed boat, allowing you to access even the shallowest of inlets, and there are world class opportunities for snorkelling and diving too. Isabella’s naturalists are passionate and knowledgeable, and revel in unveiling the islands’ best kept secrets.
  Kapawi Lodge - Ecuador
Kapawi Ecolodge and Reserve
If you’ve ever dreamed of spending the night in the rainforest, Kapawi will be everything you ever hoped for, and more. This retreat in the Amazon is extraordinarily beautiful, and its simple design sits perfectly within the landscape. Rustic in appearance, and yet with exceptional attention to detail, Kapawi is the final word in understated luxury. Raised boardwalks link each thatched guest cabin — all of which are made from local materials in a vernacular style — and there are perfect little touches such as hammocks on the verandas, solar powered showers, and creature-proof mesh so that you can engage with the Amazon’s wildlife on your terms!
  Bellavista Lodge - Ecuador
Bellavista Lodge
Bellavista is set on a 700 hectare private reserve in the Andean cloud forest. It’s a magical hideaway. Founded in 1991, the centrepiece of the lodge is a four-storey geodesic dome, which includes a viewing platform and the restaurant. It’s right in a biodiversity hotspot, with vast numbers of birds and orchids in particular. The reserve is both a place to stay and an active scientific research station, with researchers continually expanding the catalogue of species they find. Guests stay in one of eight rooms, all of which have private balconies and showers, and can expect to be woken by the sound of birdsong.
  hotel patio andaluz - Ecuador
Patio Andaluz Hotel
Equador’s capital, Quito, sits high in the Andean hills, but its impressive location is not the only reason to visit: the elegantly beautiful Old Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. When you step across the threshold of the Patio Andaluz Hotel, a three-minute walk from the Plaza de la Independencia, you step into the heart of colonial Quito. The hotel’s building dates back to the 16th century, and its architectural features have been marvellously preserved: colonnades line the interior courtyard; there is impressive plasterwork, and the floors are of wood and stone. Rooms in the hotel have been brought up to date with every contemporary comfort, however, and there’s a stunning restaurant beneath the glass ceiling of the courtyard. The bar is well stocked, and customer service is superb.
