Okonjima Bush Lodge is a privately owned luxury lodge accommodating guests in beautifully designed thatched cottages, each with proper beds, safari furniture and en-suite w.c and shower. The lodge has a pool and dining lodge and in addition to seeing the work of the project, you can enjoy walking and open vehicle safaris where you can go bird watching, see smaller wildlife and learn about desert adapted plant life. This is a relaxing and interesting place to stay and one which gives you a valuable insight into the practicalities of conservation in this unique African country.
Okonjima is renowned for the excellent opportunities for viewing and photographing both leopard and cheetah. Each day guests can watch and participate in the cheetah and leopard feeds.
This veterinary and education project has led to literally hundreds of these beautiful cats being protected. At any time several dozen are located on the Okonjima Reserve and you will have a unique opportunity to see them and learn of the work of the project.
During your stay you will have the opportunity to explore the "Bushman Trail", a unique insight into the lives of the San bush people, the traditional hunter-gatherers of the African desert.
