Mombo Camp offers guests the ultimate safari experience with nine luxury rooms which are shaded by mangosteen, ebony and fig trees. The camps are on raised platforms offering guests expansive views over the Delta floodplains as well as the occasional night of shelter for roaming buffalo.
The rooms are furnished in neutral crisp cottons and are accessorised with hand crafted African furnishings and have been designed with careful attention to guest’s privacy with spacious en-suite bathrooms and indoor and outdoor showers. The luxury rooms open onto wooden decks - the perfect setting for observation and reflection or an afternoon nap and it is not uncommon for guests to see up to twelve different mammal species from the comfort of their rooms or from the sparkling plunge pool where guests can cool off from the heat of the day. The dining room, pub and living areas overlook the open plains of acacia bushveld and savanna grasslands. In the evening guests can relax under the stars in the boma and dine by candlelight with fine wines and world class cuisine.
The area is considered to be Botswana’s top location for quality wildlife documentary film making with regular sightings of buffalo, elephant, hyena, impala, lion, leopard, tsessebe, warthog, zebra and cheetah. It is also home to a pack of wild dogs that regularly hunt in the locality. The white rhino has been re-introduced to the area and guests staying at Mombo Camp have a good chance of spotting these magnificent predators.
The birdlife is abundant with waterfowl and waders amongst the many species of birds that inhabit this area.
Activities at Mombo Camp include morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 vehicles.
